Most patients are allowed to put weight on the leg immediately after surgery with the help of crutches and a knee brace. You can usually walk without crutches within 2-3 weeks.

Return to sports depends on the injury and surgery. For meniscus repair, it may be 3-4 months. For ACL reconstruction, it typically takes 6-9 months of dedicated rehabilitation to return to contact sports safely.
