Minimally Invasive Diagnostics

Endoscopy allows doctors to look inside your body using a flexible tube with a camera. At Prayag Hospital, we perform thousands of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures annually with high success rates.

Our unit is equipped with the latest NBI (Narrow Band Imaging) technology for early detection of cancers. We emphasize patient comfort, offering procedures under sedation to ensure a painless experience.

From removing polyps to stopping internal bleeding and removing bile duct stones (ERCP), our interventional capabilities avoid the need for major surgeries in many cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Endoscopy explained.

A diagnostic upper GI endoscopy usually takes only 5-10 minutes. A colonoscopy takes 20-30 minutes. Therapeutic procedures may take longer.

Yes, for upper GI endoscopy, you need to fast for at least 6-8 hours. For colonoscopy, you need to take laxatives to clear bowel a day prior.

If sedation is used, you will feel drowsy for a few hours. We strongly recommend having someone accompany you and not driving for the rest of the day.

The risk is extremely low. We follow strict international protocols for high-level disinfection of endoscopes after every single use.
