Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding High-Risk Pregnancy.

Common causes include advanced maternal age (over 35), lifestyle choices like smoking, and underlying medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, or autoimmune diseases.

High-risk pregnancies require more frequent prenatal visits. Depending on your condition, you may need to see your doctor every 2 weeks or even weekly in the third trimester for monitoring.

Urgent warning signs include severe severe headache, blurred vision, sudden swelling of face/hands, decreased baby movement, vaginal bleeding, or fluid leakage. Contact your doctor immediately if any of these occur.

Many women with high-risk pregnancies go on to have normal vaginal deliveries. It depends on the specific condition and the health of the mother and baby at the time of labor. Your doctor will discuss the safest option for you.
